The Drink that Gave Me Back That Energy I Had Lost

I have tried many different supplements over the years to relieve the symptoms of chronic fatigue. I just never had much energy most days. I tried many different products and different herbs. Some of them did help, some I couldn't tell any difference at all. What I realized though was that I wasn't making the most important change. Diet. I spent so much time taking supplements of every kind but didn't eat very much at all. I knew that had to change. Now I realize it is the most important single thing you can do to recover your health.

I heard about this egg drink to help my stomach for candida albicans and started making it. This has brought back all my energy. I think it's all the fat. The surprising thing is I did this to just get rid of IBS (thank you painkillers) but I have energy every day now and I have so far lost about 45 pounds.

Raw Egg Drink  (see note if you don't want to use eggs raw, I like the energy it gives)

Ingredients
•2-3 large whole eggs (or 3-4 medium size), preferably "certified organic" free-range
•2 tablespoons virgin coconut oil
•2 tablespoons unsalted butter (should be organic or certified organic, but no hormones or antibiotics, preferably). Raw, grass-fed would be the ideal.
•1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
•1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, or to taste
•1-2 teaspoons Blackstrap Molasses
•2 to 2 ½ cups of warm water (use boiling water if you don't want it raw)

Other spices can be added to suit your taste, i.e. ground clove, allspice, ginger, etc.

Sometimes I add berries and cocoa powder.

For pain relief I add to this turmeric and some curry powder. About 1/4 tsp each.

I make this in a jar or blender cup with my hand blender.
Here is another shake recipe from my other website.

Coconut Shake (Use berries or bananas)

Who knew that something so simple could help so much. It's great to be able to make plans and keep them. All the mental fog also vanished and I can think clearly again. I'm thinner than I've been since I was in my twenties.

Remember, you have to eat. It is the single most important thing you can do for yourself.

  1. Louise,

From the sounds of it, you either have adrenal fatigue or very severe rare thyroid issues. Are you sure that your IBS is not gluten intolerance or celiac disease? Have you taken any saliva test for estrogen dominance? Also, if you grew up around the Great Lakes area, there is a huge problem with iodine deficiency. No, table salt does not provide adequate measures nor any where near what your body needs if it has been chronically deprived of iodine for years. Why do I ask you these things? I have gone through these things for most of my life without full resolution. There are many doctors who ignore or turn their back on these most important aspects of health. The United States is very very poor in working to diagnose people correctly, Consequently, you are left on a limb to hear the voice of God who is the Great Physician and will guide you the way He Wills. You have to research and discover and work with your own body.

The Lord Bless you and your husband. A fellow sister in Christ.

I discovered I had severe adrenal fatigue from stress, trauma and a low-fat and semi-vegetarian diet that was brought on at the end of 1996 after an illness. Tests came back negative for thyroid but I always make sure to take care of it with plenty of iodine in the diet anyway. You can read my full story at my other website at http://www.cure-my-fatigue.com/AboutMe.html

The IBS came as a result of years of taking naproxen which destroys the lining in the gut. I only recently discovered this. I haven't taken any OTC painkillers since 2004 after the Vioxx scare.

You are right that we have to take charge of our own health. And yes, the great Physician has always been there guiding me every step of the way through the Mayo Clinic, certain herbs and people that have helped me greatly.

I also am a strong believer in the need to forgive, laugh and bless everyone around us.
